TYPE 1 ! Please help!?

Alright, I've had this for like three years now from sharing a drink with my contaminated aunt, which she didn't realize she was going to have an outbreak. I've gotten them before, but this... this by far is the worst. I was upstate visiting family when I had the outbreak. The first day wasn't as bad, 'cause I had gotten abreva to calm it.. but the next day it stopped working. It was in it's 'weeping' stage on Sunday all day. I got my perscription for it yesterday and it started to make it crust up. It's still crusted/scabbed. Again, it's never been this bad... so what do I do? I have to apply the medication every two hours of wake time, which I've been doing. Should I keep applying or just pick the crust off? I honestly can't say I've gotten this far with it 'cause any other time I caught it before it appeared.
