Is it ethical for a hospital to cause death by painkillers?

im sorry but your mum decided he would die the moment she didnt authorize the amputation. What can the hospital do but to try and help him with the pain?? It's not their fault, it was either that or watch him suffer and die. sorry to be blunt.
