Is Demerol neccesary for the pain I'm experiencing?

I'm 15 years old, turning 16 in august--so I don't know if I'm at the appropriate age. My stepmother gave me Demerol friday, yesterday, and today. I took the ones on friday and yesterday... But today I pretended to take the pill and slipped it in my pocket. Because yesterday, I took the pill and I felt high. Really high. And while that's cool for another time in my life, right now my brain is still developing and I don't feel comfortable being all druggied out. So the reason shes given me the pills is because I have a fractured hand. Didn't see the doctor, because my father and I both know that my hand is fractured--it's swolen and purple, my little and ring finger don't move as much... So the big question is; Is Demerol neccesary for the pain I'm experiencing for this fractured hand? I can deal with the pain (reluctantly), but I CAN deal with it if I have to... I just don't want to blow my brains out via narcotics at such a young age.
