Should i give my ex something he wanted before we broke up?

We just broke up about a month ago. It was over quite a big fight but I think everything has calmed down now. We've talked a bit and he's said he'd like to apologize and thank me for all I've done, he also wants to help me whenever i need. Before we broke up i got him something i knew he really wanted from overseas and was going to surprise him with it. i just received it from the courier...and I don't know if I should still give it to him or not...he's off to the army in a couple of weeks and I'm thinking of giving it as a present before he leaves.. or should i just leave it so neither of us would be reminded of the relationship...
