Can anybody help me with a little computer trouble?

Ok, so I have InterVideo WinDVD creater versions 2 and 3. I have a video file on my computer that I want to put on a DVD by using those programs. But when I go to burn it, the program won't reconize the disc. I have already tried a few different disc brands and a few discs out of each pack. Thanks in advance and please, no sarcastic or morbid answeres. Please keep it clean and God bless.
